A little ‘Reno(vation) will do it…

Remember the saying ‘ A little dab will do ya’ which referred to a hair product as I recall ( maybe dippity do hair gel? ) anyway, that saying popped into my head just now. A little reno will do it – meaning just a little of something can make things much better. So I am done with the update of paint, chair rail and new carpet on the riser. I made a big mess and now trying to clean it all up. I was very fortunate that someone wanted that 70′s gold carpet and came and got it right away, so out with the old and in with the new. I just wish that ‘new carpet smell’ and the glue smell would tame down a little! Click to view slideshow.

Bridal Show is Sunday, Feb 19th

Time flies when you are having fun – or just being busy! Most of us are just really busy. I hope you can take time out of your busy schedule and visit the Lebanon Bridal Show on Sunday, Feb 19th from 12 noon to 5 pm. There are lots of new vendors as well as some whom have been at previous shows. There will be door prizes too. We do ask that you fill in a form at the door and answer questions of how you found out about or heard about the show via different advertising medias. This gives us a better idea of where/how your heard about the show and tells us what type of advertisement was most effective. The majority of the answers we get is from friends/family (which doesn’t tell me where the original person found out about the show!). I am working to get projects done at the hall before the show. There is new carpet on the riser, new paint on the walls and new chair railing in the chapel area. No more brown paneling! Of course I would like all new carpet, but just have part of the chapel in new gray carpet for now.

Canyonville Bridal Show

I was a vendor at the Wedding Dreams Bridal Show at 7 Feathers Casino in Canyonville, Oregon (past Roseburg) yesterday, Sunday, January 29th. The event took place in the Convention Center at the Casino. It was a beautiful location and there were 35 vendors, a fashion show, tastings and lots of beautiful displays. It was a rush trip, as I was called the afternoon before and asked if I would like to participate due to a cancellation. The event was well planned and well attended. Although most people did not know where Lebanon is, I made some contacts with photographers and other bridal professionals. I took my lit branches for the display and everyone loved them.

The branches in the containers are for rent if you are interested. I have a limited supply of white and blue lighted ones.

Bridal Shower for Kaydri

Wedding and Party items for rent

Many of you don’t know that I rent tables, tablecloths, basic centerpieces and now wedding arches for off-site weddings or other events. I also am available for day-of-event on-site coordination & help if you are in need of someone to lend a helping hand. My prices are very reasonable. I will have some delivery available for an additional fee. I have 6 foot folding resin tables and tablecloths in 7 different colors. At this time I do not have chairs for rent. So if you are in a pinch and need some help, give me a call @ 541-259-HALL.

The New Year is upon us

Well Christmas is over, and if you are like me you hit a few after-Christmas sales to pick up a few items like gift bags and a shirt or socks or holiday decorations and maybe some candy! Yes, I did go shopping yesterday and picked up champagne colored brocade tablecloths! I will have them available for use at Santiam Place or for rental away from the hall as soon as I can get them washed and dried. I sure hope they don’t need to be ironed too!

Anyway, I hope you had a great Holiday season with all of the hustle and bustle, family, friends and gatherings. I will now be gearing up for the 2012 Lebanon Bridal Show which will take place on Sunday, February 19th from Noon to 5 pm. If you would like to see a certain type of wedding vendor at this show, contact me and let me know and hopefully I can find them for you!

Holiday events in downtown Lebanon

Peggy’s Alaskan Cabbage Patch Bed & Breakfast is having an open house on Saturday & Sunday, December 17th & 18th from 10-6. The Craftsman style home is located at 194 Second Street in Lebanon. Drop by for a tour of the B & B, have a cup of tea, sample some of Peggy’s Alaskan cuisine, look at displays of quilts by local quilt artists and see other handcrafts that are for sale.

While you are on Second Street, don’t miss visiting the Treasure Chest Antique Store. After being in business for 48 years, Vi is closing the doors. The shop will be open Thursdays, Fridays & Saturdays through December. Vi is known for her large selection of flow blue china dishes. You will find beautiful dishes, linens, kitchen items and a whole lot of memories in the little house next to the railroad tracks (across from Underdog Coffee) on Second Street.

On Saturday, December 17th, Christmas at the Gem, will take place at the old Gem Theater, located inside one of Lebanon’s historic downtown businesses, 638 Main Street, from 10-5 pm. The event is free to the public and will have free music provided by young and old musicians all day long. There will be free popcorn, a fruitcake tasting contest and vendors with ‘sweets’ for sale. Look for the decorated windows all in white lights!

I have been a fan of Holly Yashi Jewelry for quite some time now. Their jewelry incorporates European crystal, semi precious stones, pearls with different colored niobium metal, sterling silver, verdigris brass and gold overlay. They even have a bridal collection with classic pearls and gleaming metals. I am awaiting my postcard to tell me the date of their discount jewelry sale at the Linn County Fairgrounds – it should be coming up in December.
